Chef Mira Voss returns to Havenrode to sell her late father’s restaurant, pack the knives, and escape before the town recruits her into another round of family mythology.

On the chalkboard outside De Blauwe Lei, rain exposes blue writing beneath decades of white specials: a month of dishes that never appeared on any ticket. Staff call it renovation. The rival kitchen across the street remembers otherwise.

Tracing those meals carries Mira back to a harbor strike, a hard winter, and an act her proud family chose to hide. To decide the restaurant’s future, she must separate what the ledger recorded from the work that kept a street alive.

The chalk washed away; the hunger it answered never did.
