The story
What waits inside
Pain can pass permanently between intimate partners through deliberate touch. For three years, Beirut physiotherapist Rana has secretly drawn her partner Karim’s ALS agony into her own nerves, joints, and spine.
The disease continues. Her body is running out of places to hold what love keeps asking her to take. Then a Syrian musician in a café recognizes the transfer and offers to carry some of Rana’s accumulated damage.
Accepting would mean trusting a stranger with pain shaped by the man she loves. Refusing may leave her too broken to remain beside Karim at all. Rana must discover whether devotion is measured by what she bears or by what she finally permits others to share.
Carrying everything alone is not the only proof that love stayed.
