In Mexico City, trained finishers can complete any interrupted sentence while its speaker still breathes. Luna takes deathbed commissions at the public hospital, lending her throat to words that need somewhere to land.

A dying cartel accountant carries seven words interrupted by a gunshot in 1984. When Luna begins the completion, the sentence points toward a buried massacre, a missing archive, and the identity she has sought since being abandoned at birth.

The guild that raised her keeps immaculate ledgers and dangerous loyalties. Finishing the sentence could expose the people Luna calls family. Leaving it open protects them, but makes her the newest keeper of a forty-year silence.

Every unfinished sentence leaves a door; this one opens both ways.
